Take Care With Your Thoughts

Yesterday, in part 15 of this series, we looked at advancement again. We are now getting towards the end of the Science of Getting Rich so today’s post (reflecting chapter 16 of the book) points out some things to beware of.

Doubts

Just because people don’t believe that there is a Science of Getting Rich does not mean that there isn’t such a thing. People may ridicule the idea and be convinced that money and other resources are all limited so competition is the only sensible course of action. They may say that it is all down to the government and that they will have to change things before people can improve their standard of living.

However, The Science of Getting Rich details a very different way of thinking which I have outlined in the previous posts in this series.

If you find yourself falling back into your old ways of thinking then stop because that will hinder you in the process of getting rich.

Future PlanningThe future is looking good

Some future planning is necessary and appropriate but we are warned against spending a lot of time worrying about and preparing for, things that might happen in the future. It is worth staying in the here and now as much as possible. If we are sticking to this method properly then any obstacles which we imagine might come up in the future will probably disappear as we get closer to them. Either that or we will easily find ways round them.

Has that been your experience ? Viewed from a distance, things in the future that we perceive as negative can appear much bigger than they are when we get closer to them. And we wonder what we were worrying about ! Focus on doing your work today well.

Dangerous Talk

Another way you can sabotage your success is by negative speech. Don’t talk about yourself or your work or anything else in a negative way. Focus on the positive and be grateful ! Don’t even consider that you may not be successful. Don’t be disappointed. Don’t bemoan the state of the world. Stick to the vision of your future the way you would like it to be.

Onwards and Upwards

Yesterday, in part 14 of this series, we considered the impression you give to others. More on that today…

Advancement

As we said yesterday, we all need to believe that the things we want are coming to use through our belief and our gratitude. Once we have that settled then it is clear that our businesses will improve and we should give out that idea of advancement and increase that people are attracted to.

This applies to everyone, whatever sort of work you do to earn money. You may work in a factory, be a doctor, teacher, cleaner, bus driver, vicar, solicitor, insurance salesman, nursery nurse - it applies to all equally.

Dead End JobOnwards and Upwards

You may consider that you are in dead end job with no possibility for getting on and no opportunities for advancement. Those thoughts are not helpful. Focus on what it is you want. How you get what you want is not your concern. The method by which things come to you is the domain of the creative intelligence, so focus on the results not the means.

Advance Yourself

Do your work every day to the best of your ability and focus on where you want to be. Don’t do your best with the idea of impressing your boss. If you’re particularly good at your job, why would they promote you ? Better to let you carry on doing your job well. No, do your job well with the plan to advance yourself and give out the idea of advancement knowing that you can be what you want to be and having the determination to succeed. Opportunities are likely to come your way which will take you towards your goal.

Impress Me

In part 13 of this series yesterday, we looked at the right type of business (or businesses) that would make you rich. Today we consider the impression you give to others.

Impression Matters
What ever business or businesses you’re working in, you will have to deal with people, either face-to-face, by email, phone or letter. So, inevitably they will gain an impression about you and your business.

As we said very early on in this series, it is a fundamental quality of life that it wants to increase itself in every way. We, as human beings are looking for more. This is, of course, the reason behind wanting to become rich. Hence, when you do business with people, it is important that you give them the impression of increase. That is quite a vague thing to say, and you will have to interpret that in whatever way is appropriate for your business.

SuccessIncreasing profits
People seek out successful people and successful businesses. If you believe (as you must if you are following this method), that all the things you want are coming to you, then life IS increasing for you.

No one is asking you to lie or boast about anything. It is a natural consequence of what we have discussed that you are getting continuous increase of what you want. Give that impression to people and your business will increase. It makes good business sense.

Pride and Integrity
Have pride in what you do, do business with integrity, give everyone more in value than you receive from them in money. Not only will this benefit your business but you will enjoy your work more.

Keep away from the mindset of competition, being number 1, being better than others. That attitude has done so much damage to the world. Stay with creativity and cooperation. There is a quote from someone called ‘Golden Rule’ Jones of Toledo who said: “What I want for myself, I want for everybody”. If we can genuinely hold that belief, I feel sure we will succeed and the world will be a better place.
