		<description>Hi Roger,

This is my first time to your blog. I like what I read.

I like how you coin the Drainer and Radiator. It is so true.

Another word for Drainer is also called Emotions Vampire :)

I would like to invite you to come visit me too.
http://www.mindthinksuccess.com

I will be back.

Blessings
Gamy

<description>I can be bounding through life with great self esteem &#38; its something i do work on...but often, especially when tired my self esteem can take a wallop and it is often a slow process to rebuild it....but basically I believe that people can only effect our esteem if we let them and I try not to give anyone that power...good post it gave me pause for thought...x

<description>Thanks Andrea. I read your comment yesterday and have been mulling it over since. I had not thought about this aspect of self-esteem but it seems to me that this is an excellent yardstick.

I was remembering that (in times past) when people asked me what I did, I would say I am a Project Manager. I wouldn't say I do Project Management. It was as if my identity (I am) was tightly tied in with my job. At that time, I don't know what I would have done if I had lost that job. Now, if someone asks me what I do, I say I work as a web designer and as a homeopath. I love doing them both but I am separate from them. Perhaps just changing these words can help us separate ourselves from our work and so see ourselves as something more - our true identity, as you so rightly say.

Thanks again for your comment - really made me think more deeply about self-esteem.

<description>Nice article! I think one of the biggest hallmarks of excellent self-esteem is when we can admit that what we are doing isn't working, that we aren't getting the results that we desire.

We can develop better self-esteem by changing our attitude, our perspective, or our actions. Once we do this and realize that this in no way threatens our true identity, we can let go of the shrine we have built to the aspects of our "personality" we hold so dear and see ourselves as something greater than just the ego-mind. And as an added bonus, we can create something different that actually serves us.

Blessings,
Andrea
