Hi Russ
Thanks for 'lurking through the blog' !! and for your comment. Although I do use Facebook, I've stopped using MySpace and I would agree that the themed social networking sites are more interesting, provided, of course, that you're interested in the theme !
Thanks for the mention of the other book social networking sites. I've not come across any of these

I agree, Jay, for everyone on the planet, environment is our issue. Thanks too for the mention of Shelfari - I've not come across that one before.

Hi Roger!

I've been lurking through your blog for a while, but I just wanted to pop in and say that I am also a member of Gaia and absolutely love it! The people there seem genuine and the forums/groups are so much more interesting and stimulating than some of the other communities like MySpace.

I'd also like to second Jay's comment that Shelfari is a great social network for booklovers. There is also Librarything and GoodReads, but Shelfari just seemed more intuitive and seemed to have a nice, clean interface.

At any rate, thank you for sharing the Gaia-love! The more, the merrier!

Russ's last blog post..A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart

More and more social networking sites have taken on themes, I see. This is a great way to further spread various environmental advocacies. After all, this is one issue that concerns all of us. It doesn't matter where you come from or how old you are. Environment is our issue. There's also a social networking site for books if you're interested. It's called Shelfari and though I haven't been very active lately, surfing around is fun.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.
