What is the Universe Made Of ?

Published by Roger at 4:14 pm under Personal Development, The Science of Getting Rich

So, before we get into the method of getting rich, there are some important concepts to get to grips with.

The first one is that everything in the Universe is made from one original substance. Things in the Universe are made up of molecules assembled in particular ways to form the things we see, trees, rocks, people, cars.

  • A molecule is made up of atoms
  • Atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and electrons
  • Protons, neutrons and electrons are made up of quarks
  • Quarks are made up of…

Well, it seems that quarks are made up of energy apparently. The deeper scientists penetrate into the structure of matter the more it becomes apparent that everything is made up of energy. Einstein’s theories show the relationship between matter and energy, the famous equation E=mc2. So, truly, everything in the Universe is made up of energy at the most basic level.

So, the original substance referred to in the Science of Getting Rich, I think is energy.

The book goes on to say that there is original substance to spare.

There is no limit to the supply of formless stuff, or original substance. The universe is made out of it, but it was not all used in making the universe. The spaces in, through, and between the forms of the visible universe are permeated and filled with the original substance, with the formless stuff - with the raw material of all things

The unused substance is all around us - we just can’t see it. The new things that are created are made out of this spare energy. This spare energy is the raw material of things. Not that I’m saying that new things get created spontaneously but new things do get created and, in nature, plants sprout form seeds, animals are born etc. And still there is original substance to spare - loads of it.

Creation Not CompetitionA sprouting seed

It is this substance which is the driving force behind life, that drives life forwards to develop and grow and become all it can be. Nature is not poor.

If you can accept this, at least for the moment, then it follows that getting rich and having things is possible as they can be created, somehow, out of this substance. Also, if you get rich, that does not mean that you take money or possessions of someone else. If there were a fixed amount of money or energy or substance or whatever, then, yes, if you get more, someone else gets less. But this is NOT what the book is saying. If there is original substance (for want of a better phrase) to spare and things are created from it, then you getting rich does not disadvantage anyone else.

Can you accept this as a possibility, at least for the time being ? I hope you can. There’ll be more tomorrow.

If you want to read the book, download a full copy of The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles.

This post is my take on the chapter 3 of The Science of Getting Rich. See my earlier article about the book.
