Is there a Method of Getting Rich ?
Who gets rich ?
Is it just clever people ? No. Rich people are not all clever and not all clever people are rich.
Does it depend on where you were born or where you live ? No. There are rich people and poor people all over the world and place of birth has little to do with it.
Does it depend on what business or job you’re in ? No. Any given business has some people making lots of money while others struggle.
What about talented people ? Some are rich and some aren’t.
Is it just people who are good at saving money ? Nope. Some people who are good at saving money are rich and some, sadly, remain poor.
Could it just be down to luck ? Well, yes, I suppose it could, but some people become rich then lose it all and then manage to get rich again ! That’s a lot of luck. So, I’m not convinced that luck is the reason behind getting rich. Then there’s the lottery winners - not many winners but certainly some. They must be lucky !
A Theory
So who (apart from lottery winners) gets rich ?? Could it be that it is more about people going about things in a specific way and thinking about things in a specific way that causes them to become rich ? Could it be a particular attitude of mind that people cultivate ? If that way, that method, that attitude could be defined then, anyone who followed it would get rich. Nice theory !
Such a theory, if it exists, can’t be that hard to understand or to put into practice because we know that both clever people and less clever people can get rich. And I’m not suggesting that all rich people have consciously followed a method - they may well have done it without realising.
So, if there’s a method, anyone who followed the method would get rich, yes ? That would support the theory. And if someone followed the method and didn’t get rich that would disprove the theory.
The Science of Getting Rich puts forward a theory. In truth, the book says it is not a theory because people have been using the method and it has always worked and nobody has followed the method and failed. The author of the book, Wallace Wattles, believes it is an infallible method which is why he calls it the science of getting rich.
Stay with this. Wouldn’t it be worth testing this theory ? People say it works. If it did work then you could be rich. My suggestion is that you don’t dismiss it just because you think it is unlikely. Imagine what could happen if it were true.
More soon.
