You Deserve to be Rich !

Published by Roger at 8:55 pm under Personal Development, The Science of Getting Rich

Yes, you deserve to be rich and you have every right to be rich !

How do you feel when you read that ? Happy ? Angry ? Irritated ?

Well, let’s think about this for a moment. Everyone (I think) wants to be everything they can be. Everyone has desires, ambitions, dreams. This is because we want to develop and grow and evolve to be the best we can be. That is life. Not just human life, but all life.

But how do we grow our talents and abilities ? How do we do more good in the world ? The way the world is set up, we need money to do that. To go on courses, to set up a business, to be able to help significant numbers of other people in the world.weighing scales

People live for the body, the mind and for the soul. Each one is important - they are equally important. The idea that living for the mind to the exclusion of body and soul seems wrong to me; same as living for the soul but caring nothing for the mind and body etc. We need a balance between all three.

And to be able to live fully in the body we need good food, warm clothes, shelter, comfort. These cost money. To develop the mind we need intellectual resources - courses, books, access to the internet. These cost money. To feed the soul we need to give and receive love. I don’t believe that love can be fully expressed whilst living in poverty. Just imagine what you could do with large amounts of money. I imagine lots of people do that judging by the numbers of people that buy lottery tickets !

Money is necessary - in fact it is essential for living a full life. And to develop ourselves to the full so we use all the gifts and talents we have, we will need a lot of money. In other words, we need to be rich.

I believe that it is perfectly OK to want to be rich. More than that, it is both normal and our duty to be rich, so that we can do our best for ourselves and the world.

I’m sure this will raise lots of questions in your mind and you may disagree and have all sorts of objections. Feel free to comment and I plan to tackle these in subsequent posts.

This post is my take on the chapter 1 of The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. See my earlier article about the book.

  2. Roger, I need to be rich puts my intention on lack. It is better to say, “I choose to be rich.” “I am rich.” Then the Universe steps in and helps you become what you have stated that you are. This is what I am learning from using Conscious Language. If you are interested, I have written 2 articles on my blog on the use of Conscious Language.

    Hi Patricia
Thanks for your feedback. I’ve now read your 2 articles on Conscious Language and it all makes good sense to me. I agree that we should not focus on lack or indeed anything that goes against our desires. I understand that by saying I want to be rich, it constantly places that in the future rather than the present.

I agree that everyone deserves to be rich, but the definition of “rich” is the complication. If one is referring specifically of monetary abundance, then I believe love can be fully expressed in poverty. Perhaps not expressed without the impact of poverty, but most certainly there is love and there are those who express it wonderfully despite the severity of environment.
    Peace and wonder,

    Hi CG
Thanks for your comment on my post
I have to say that I subscribe to the view that monetary abundance is important to allow full spiritual development of the individual as I have put forward in this post.
That doesn’t mean, in my view, that love cannot be expressed in poverty - I’ve sure it can. It’s my belief that the more spiritually evolved each person on the planet is, then the better the life we can all have and the more joy, love and abundance we can share.

    Roger
